Marcanos, who was born in Argentina but grew up in England, made his debut for Manchester United in 1998 before moving to Real Madrid, where he spent five years playing for the Spanish giants. After leaving Real Madrid, Marcanos went on to play for several other top European clubs, including Barcelona,Bundesliga Express Juventus, and Napoli, before joining FC Porto in 2009.

During his time at FC Porto, Marcanos became known for his strong defensive and technical abilities, as well as his ability to score goals. He won numerous accolades throughout his career, including being named to the UEFA Champions League squad three times and the UEFA Europa League squad twice.

In 2017, Marcanos left FC Porto and signed for French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Despite not achieving much success in his first season with PSG, Marcanos returned to the Portuguese football scene and joined FC Porto again in 2020. In his first year with the club, Marcanos was named the best young player of the season, and he went on to win the UEFA Europa League with the club.

Despite his impressive performances, Marcanos is still very much focused on his future at FC Porto. He has expressed his desire to continue his career at the club and has even hinted that he may be looking to move abroad for further opportunities.
